Meet the Team
In 2005 I formed aDuet which later became ‘Joseph Tufo Photography’ whilst I undertook my Degree in Photography and digital imaging. In 2006, having been a member of the Royal Photographic Society for 3 years, I obtained my Associateship (ARPS). I also became a Licentiate Member of the British Institute of Professional Photographers in 2007. I have always been passionate about my photography since I first obtained my Box Brownie camera as a boy scout to earn my photography badge, one of my first photographs was of my fellow scouts standing in the inlet of a new KLM jet having been hoisted up to the engine by our scout leader – I don’t think that could ever happen again!
As a photographer I love to photograph many of the unique characters you get at social events and their wonderful expressions especially in a natural reportage style. Going in the other direction it can also be great fun to choreograph groups to create fond, lasting memories that would not happen otherwise. At our studios in Surrey, we also do a variety of Portraiture & Architectural and Interior Design Photography using the necessary portable lighting equipment to give us flexibility in all locations. Recently we have started to do Photo Booth photography allowing people to dress in costumes, masks and wigs, which is great fun with people in a party mood!
I began working as Joe’s assistant in October 2013 after recently moving to Epsom. I assist Joe on all weddings and many of his portraiture photo sessions. I am also the head retoucher in the studio and make sure that all of the images we take are retouched to the very highest standard.
I began pursuing photography in 2009 during my time studying Digital Media Design at Brighton University. I learned much of what I now know at 2 of the largest makeover photography studios in central London. Whilst these jobs were hard work they taught me how to pose large and small groups of people, keep large groups entertained and master studio lighting. I now work as a freelance photographer in London and Surrey when I am not working alongside Joe and I specialise in fashion, beauty and portraiture for magazines, fashion brands and performing artists.
Lynne and Chantal both work part time in the studio and provide admin, sales and marketing, support dealing with new and existing enquirers with our clients and planning future wedding shows and events with our local wedding planning services.
It is home to a fully equipped photographic portrait and audio-visual studio with a wide variety of 3m wide backgrounds including a white infinity background for high key portrait and portfolio use. The Studio at 5m x 6m can host large groups of up to 20 people. The Studio is fully air-conditioned and has shower, changing room and make up facilities. For a wedding or portrait session the Surrey Studio is ideal for meetings with the bride and groom both pre and post wedding service to view and display the images on a full HD cinema screen of photos and DVDs of wedding photographs and portrait sessions undertaken.
